Mandala 8: Created while waiting to board a double decker tour bus around Shanghai. Stage 8: because it is similar to a five pointed star (represents a person who is functioning well in their surroundings). I guess I am adjusting to being in China. #china #functioning #mandala #lotus #arttherapy #instaart #watercolorcrayons #tourbus #doubledecker #shanghai

Mandala 7: This also fits into Stage 4: New Beginnings (the challenge of this stage is to let go of things that are no longer necessary). I’m still in China, immersed in this different culture, although this drawing looks more Japanese. #mandala #instaart #drawing #paperby53 #cherryblossom #china #shanghai #arttherapy

Mandala 6: Drawn during my 15 hour flight to Shanghai, China. The triangle makes this fit into Stage 4: New Beginnings (taking pleasure in nurturing something new). I’m nervous about this new culture but excited to explore #china #shanghai #arttherapy #drawing #instaart #mandala #newbeginnings #shanghai #nurturing #excited #nervous

Mandala 4: According the “Great Round of the Mandala” this is Stage 2: Bliss (a state of blissfullness and free floating ideas. I may be feeling a lack of form and not know how things will eventually fit together). #arttherapy #drawing #instaart #bliss #freefloating #paperby53 #space #planets #cometogether
