Day 22: Mother's Day Flowers
These flowers go out to my four wonderful and amazing mothers, Mom (Barbara), Step-Mom (Sue), Mother-In-Law (Alice) and Step-Mother-In-Law (Lori). I am so blessed.
Its a hard job, but today I am pampered. I went for a beautiful run, stopped in the Coffee Bean to see my oldest daughter, and she made me a coffee. Now I am home getting yummy smells wafting upstairs while my hubby and younger daughter are busy creating a fabulous breakfast. Later we all will meet my brother at Runyon Canyon for a hike in the Hollywood Hills. Perfect day.
Love honestly.

Day 11: Stars
Not really feeling this one. It is ugly, and I felt that it was not getting better as I worked on it.
I forgot my drawing stylus in Chicago, and I could not make crisp, sharp lines, and that was bothering me. Also, I was really tired when I was drawing this (jet lag), and when I am tired, cranky or sick I notice that my drawings reflect that and they are ugly.
That's why we always have another chance tomorrow. Self Reminder: Not everything I make has to me a masterpiece.

Day 9: Treasure Chest
So I was in the Chicago area for 6 days, and that is why I am currently playing catch up with the blog posts. I promise that I DID draw every day, but I just was not able to post. This was done on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
I was staying with my sister, Kim, who is a PhD. She asked me to come into her class at The Chicago School ( a Professional School of Psychology), and be a guest lecturer. She was teaching a class on Conflict Resolution, and she wanted me to have her class learn/do some art interventions. It was the last class of the semester, and I decided to have each of them share some treasure that they gained from the class and from each other. It was a really nice way to create closure.
I am going to be coming on to The Chicago School as an adjunct professor in their "Blended Program". That means that most of the classes are online, and we will only meet face to face twice. I love teaching, and I am excited about a new endeavor in my life. Plus, more trips to Chicago - not bad.

Day 4: A Bird in the Hand
Last spring birds built nests and had babies in the eaves of out back yard patio, and some of the babies fell or where pushed out of the nests. Shoveling up dead baby birds is not my favorite thing. Those same birds (or the next generation) keep trying to build nests in the same place, and Michael keeps knocking the nests down. Those are some persistent birds. My cats, who sit at the back window, are thrilled to watch the entire scene. Subconsciously, I must have been thinking about these goings on when I drew today's picture.

Day 3: Asian Abstract
This one has a very Asian art feeling to me. Its much more graphic with sharp lines and pointy edges, but this app made it easy. The white lines and dots where made by erasing back into the colors - which is so fun and clean. I do wish this app had more color choices and a color fill-in option.
I noticed that the number 4 is a repeated theme in this drawing. Maybe because there are four of us in my immediate family (me, hubby, and two daughters) - although I was not even consciously thinking of that while drawing.
